Director, Logistics Operations & Transformation

What we're looking for

 Spinnaker SCA, a Publicis Sapient company, is seeking a Director of Logistics Operations & Transformation. This is a leadership role for an experienced logistics professional who combines deep operational expertise with strong analytical capabilities, client-facing consulting skills, and a passion for transforming supply chain operations.

This role is a part of our Warehouse Operations & Automation practice and is ideal for leaders who have successfully led complex warehouse and transportation initiatives, thrives in ambiguous environments, and enjoys solving challenging operational problems. This individual is equally comfortable presenting executive recommendations in the boardroom, facilitating client workshops, and walking a distribution center floor to identify opportunities for improvement.

As a Director, you will lead client engagements, manage multidisciplinary project teams, develop logistics transformation strategies, and help shape the growth of our logistics consulting practice.

Required qualifications

Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Equivalent experience includes a proven track record of skills, professional accomplishments, or training related to the role.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, operations consulting, or distribution operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership across warehouse, fulfillment, and distribution center operations.
  • Experience managing transportation operations including parcel, LTL, truckload, carrier management, freight procurement, and transportation strategy.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics tools.
  • Proven ability to develop financial models, business cases, KPI frameworks, and scenario analyses.
  • Experience leading large operational transformation initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to lead client workshops, facilitate discussions, and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.

 

Experience that's a plus

You’ll stand out if you also bring experience with:

  • Experience leading or supporting 3PL evaluations, outsourcing initiatives, provider transitions, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or omnichannel distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with warehouse and transportation technologies including WMS, TMS, OMS, ERP, and systems integration initiatives.
  • Experience supporting retail supply chains with knowledge of OTIF, EDI, ASN, routing guide compliance, chargebacks, and retail fulfillment operations.
  • Previous consulting experience within a boutique or global consulting firm is highly desirable.
  • Successful candidates often come from one or more of the following backgrounds:
    • Logistics or Distribution leadership within retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or eCommerce organizations.
    • Supply Chain consulting firms specializing in logistics transformation, network optimization, or warehouse operations.
    • Operations, engineering, or solutions leadership roles within leading third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
       

What you'll actually do

  • Lead logistics transformation engagements across warehousing, distribution, transportation, and fulfillment operations.
  • Partner with executive client stakeholders to assess current-state operations and develop future-state strategies.
  • Lead complex analyses using operational, financial, and transportation data to identify cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Develop business cases, executive presentations, implementation roadmaps, and transformation strategies.
  • Facilitate client workshops, executive steering committees, and operational assessments.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams from strategy through implementation.
  • Drive distribution center optimization, transportation network improvements, and omnichannel fulfillment initiatives.
  • Support 3PL evaluations, provider selection, RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiations, and transition planning.
  • Guide warehouse, transportation, and supply chain technology implementations as the business lead.
  • Mentor consultants and managers while contributing to the continued growth of the Logistics Operations practice.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex logistics transformations, improving warehouse and transportation performance, leveraging analytics to solve business problems, and building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders. Most importantly, they will bring the leadership capability, operational expertise, and client-facing skills necessary to help grow a high-performing Logistics Operations consulting practice.

Pay Range: $90,000-220,000 USD + Bonus

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Spinnaker SCA. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
