Softeon WMS Technical Consultant | Spinnaker SCA Careers

What we're looking for

Spinnaker SCA, a Publicis Sapient company, is seeking a Softeon Warehouse Management Technical Consultant with expertise in leading WMS platforms to lead client-facing design and implementation efforts as a part of our Warehouse Operations & Automation practice. This role bridges the gap between warehouse operations and system technicalities—guiding clients through complex WMS deployments that drive performance in retail, ecommerce, and wholesale environments.

Required qualifications

Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Equivalent experience includes a proven track record of skills, professional accomplishments, or training related to the role.
  • Strong WMS Experience

    • Experience with SQL (Oracle preferred)
    • 3 years of experience with ZPL for labels
    • Experience using integration protocols (WebService, SQL, XML, etc.)
    • Provides senior level design for client specific enhancements
    • Proactively troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during the implementation
    • Experience working in a client/customer facing role within a supply chain or software organization
  • Experience in Business Process Definition, Support, and Design

    • Functional Flows
    • Process Descriptions
    • Future State Models
    • Root Cause Analysis
  • Minimum 4 years of Softeon WMS utilization experience and integration with other process areas
    • Tier 1 or Tier 2 WMS experience
    • WMS application to support warehouse operations
    • WMS application integration to various 3rd party softwares such as: ERPs, OMS, WCS, WES, etc.
    • Printing solutions: documents and labels
    • Shipping solutions: Fedex, UPS, USPS, DHL, freight carriers
  • Past experience as a Softeon WMS SME with knowledge of Inbound Processing, Outbound Processing, Physical Inventory, RF Transactions, cycle counting, general warehousing, and MHE/Automation integration

  • Strong experience working in warehouse and fulfillment operations with a keen sense of:

  • Strong leadership skills with past experience in leading workstreams and teams in problem resolution, new development of processes, and implementation of WMS application, modifications, or extensions.
  • Strong experience in BI/BA tools, reports, and dashboards
  • Understanding of data and system integration tools, methods, and platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Experience that's a plus

  • Relevant Softeon WMS experience
  • Omni-channel distribution:  store and e-commerce
  • SQL (Oracle)
  • Excel
  • Reporting packages/tools
  • Past system implementation experience:  WMS, Order Management, ERP, Automation
 
 

What you'll actually do

  • Identify project requirements by interviewing customers and stake holders; analyzing operational processes and implemented technical solutions (Warehouse Management Systems, MHE/Automation, RF, Printing and Shipping Solutions); determining project objectives; documenting results; preparing findings and follow-ups.

  • Develops solutions to problems by describing requirements in a work-flowchart and diagram; studying system capabilities; analyzing alternative solutions; preparing system specifications.

  • Possess and apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular product or platform to the completion of moderately complex assignments.

  • Perform detailed design for client specific enhancements.

  • Works with customers to test and implement interfaces between Client’s WMS and external systems.

  • Work directly with the customer project team during configuration, testing, training, and implementation. Leads parts of the CRP or functional reviews of WMS.

  • Perform professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate action to resolve

  • Work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments that have direct impact on department and are results. Receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues.

  • Implement prototype solutions then validates and verifies results by completing tests.

  • Prepare customers to use system by conducting training:  developing SMEs and assisting with End-User development.

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

  • Maintain and shares professional and technical knowledge with clients and peers.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Collaborate and produce deliverables and client collateral to include:
    • Solution Summary Documents
    • Process descriptions and diagrams
    • High-level system context diagrams
    • Configuration plans
    • Conversion plans
    • Training plans
    • Cut-over plans
    • Training Job Guides, QRGs, SOPs
 
 

Additional info

Pay Range: $70,000-230,000 USD + Bonus

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Spinnaker SCA. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
