What we're looking for
Spinnaker SCA, a Publicis Sapient company, is seeking a Principal Consultant with deep expertise in warehouse simulation modeling to lead strategic design and optimization engagements as a part of our Warehouse Operations & Automation practice. This is a hands-on consulting role for professionals who thrive at the intersection of data-driven modeling, facility design, and automation strategy.
You’ll work with global brands to simulate, evaluate, and optimize warehouse operations using tools like AnyLogic, FlexSim, or similar platforms. If you’re passionate about turning simulation insights into real-world performance improvements—and you know how to guide clients through complexity—we want to meet you.
Required qualifications
Here’s what you need to bring to the table:
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Equivalent experience includes a proven track record of skills, professional accomplishments, or training related to the role.
- 5+ Years of building both Discrete Event and Monte Carlo models to model supply chain operations.
- 7+ years of experience in warehouse/distribution center design, operations, or consulting.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing complex models using discrete event simulation models with tools like AnyLogic, FlexSim, or comparable software. .
- Experience in testing and validating simulation models to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Proven ability to translate operational data into actionable simulation insights.
- Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation for models and processes as well as training materials.
- Experience leading simulation-based design or optimization projects for warehouse or fulfillment environments.
- Proficient the Linux core utils for completing tasks, and proficient in using Git for version control. Should be capable of deploying these models to cloud platforms where end users will be capable of running them on their own
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, automation systems, and material handling equipment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel based on client engagement needs.
Experience that's a plus
You’ll stand out if you also bring experience with:
- Experience designing greenfield or retrofit distribution centers.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), automation controls, and layout planning.
- Exposure to digital twin concepts and emulation of control systems.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
- Ability to customize and integrate simulation models with other software systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCad and integration into AnyLogic simulation models, particularly for layouts of distribution facilities
- Certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, or APICS.
- Experience with project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Ability to create insightful visualizations that effectively communicate simulation outcomes
What you'll actually do
- Lead simulation modeling engagements for warehouse and distribution center operations.
- Develop and validate discrete event simulation models to assess throughput, congestion, staffing, and automation performance.
- Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate design alternatives, process changes, and automation strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to define project scope, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across technical and executive levels.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Support proposal development and contribute to solution architecture for new opportunities.
Pay Range: $120,000-200,000 USD + Bonus
The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Spinnaker SCA. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
